Letters generator

Produce IEP-related letters as editable Word documents.

The Letters generator turns a few form fields into a properly structured, regulation-citing letter you can edit, print, and send to your district. It does not file or send anything for you — you keep complete control of when and how the letter is delivered.

How to open it

Click Letters in the top nav. The letter browser opens with templates organized by category.

Template categories

Generating a letter

1 Pick a template. Each card describes what the letter is for and what info you'll need.
2 Fill in the fields. You don't need to write polished prose — bullet points work. The generator turns them into a proper letter with the right legal framing and citations.
3 Click Generate. The app creates a .docx file in your student's folder. It opens automatically in your default Word processor.
4 Edit and review. Read every word before sending. The generator cites federal regulations, but the facts of your case are what you supplied — make sure they're accurate.
5 Send the letter yourself. The app does not email or deliver anything. You decide the format (email, certified mail, hand delivery) and timing.

What's in a generated letter

Every letter the generator produces includes:

Advocate tier — firm letterhead

If your license is the Advocate tier and you've configured your firm info in Settings, the generator applies your custom letterhead (firm name, address, phone, email) to every generated letter.

What it doesn't do

Generated letters are templates, not legal documents. They use proper structure and accurate citations, but they cannot substitute for an attorney for high-stakes filings (due process complaints, federal court litigation). For state complaints and due process, consider having an advocate or attorney review the letter before sending.
